MSR Solicitors, a young and ambitious SRA-regulated law firm, is looking to hire an experienced Commercial Property Paralegal to join their thriving Immigration team in London.
This is an exciting opportunity for a driven and detail-oriented Paralegal to contribute to the firm’s continued growth and success. The commercial property paralegal is expected to manage a caseload of straightforward commercial conveyancing matters independently, taking responsibility for progressing transactions, meeting deadlines, and maintaining regular client communication with minimal supervision.

What would you be expected to do?
- Participate in outreach efforts to solicit new clients for the firm.
- Draft and issue client care documentation and engagement letters.
- Obtain and review title documents, reporting any discrepancies or issues.
- Submit and review commercial property searches with local authorities and other relevant bodies.
- Prepare and compile contract packs for transactions, including sales, acquisitions, and leases.
- Assist with the preparation and submission of SDLT returns, ensuring compliance with deadlines.
- Prepare completion statements and client invoices, ensuring financial accuracy.
- Complete and maintain client account records, ensuring alignment with client ledgers and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and submit applications to HM Land Registry, including transfers, leases, and charges, and deal with any requisitions raised.
- Handle pre-completion matters, including drafting and responding to requisitions on title and ensuring all conditions are satisfied prior to completion.
- Respond to requisitions from HM Land Registry, local authorities, lenders, and other third parties in a timely and accurate manner.
- Open, maintain, and close client files in accordance with firm procedures and compliance requirements.
- Manage routine telephone calls, correspondence, and client enquiries, maintaining a high standard of client service.
Client and Third Party Communication:
- Deliver excellent service to clients, agents, and work providers, ensuring that all parties are kept informed throughout the conveyancing process.
- Be the first point of contact for client queries and ensure timely responses.
- Liaises with mortgage lenders, estate agents, and other third parties involved in property transactions.
- Assist in due diligence and risk assessment by identifying potential legal or financial issues related to property transactions.
Use of Case Management System:
- Utilise the case management system effectively to streamline workflows, maximise efficiency, and maintain clear and accurate records of all tasks, maximise efficiency, and maintain clear and accurate records of all tasks, documents, and communications.
- Ensure that all information entered into the system is up to date and accurate.
Business Development & Client Relationships:
- Maintain relationships with current work providers and estate agents, ensuring strong connections and collaboration.
- Proactively encourage new opportunities for the firm, assisting in the growth of the client base and helping to generate new business.
Escalation & Problem Resolution:
- Escalate any expressions of dissatisfaction from clients or work providers to the supervising fee earners.
- Take proactive steps to resolve issues and complaints, working with senior colleagues as necessary to ensure satisfactory outcomes.

What we expect you to have?
- Proven experience in commercial conveyancing, including familiarity with main aspects of the commercial conveyancing process.
- Professionalism, good quality of service and a “can do” attitude.
- Willingness and ability to immigration law and the requirements for various types of applications.
- Attention to detail and high level of productivity, managing an average of 40 cases independently.
- Flexibility and initiative regarding assignments for self and team, meeting assigned deadlines and reporting case progress and status update to supervisors on a timely basis.
- Multitasking in a fast-paced working environment with competing demands.
- Ability to develop strong working relationship with team members.
- Ability to learn from both positive and negative experiences and adapts accordingly.
- Proficiency in both written and verbal communications when communicating within the firm and when representing the firm to clients and related organisations.
