As a Medical & Dental Servicing Section (MDSS) Equipment Engineer, you will inspect, install, service, repair and carry out Electrical Safety Testing of all types of medical, dental, and veterinary equipment for air, land and maritime whilst working predominantly at customer’s sites.

In this position, you will find yourself responding to equipment failures and urgent service requests at MOD sites within your area while adhering to operational protocols and procedures, escalating any instances of non-adherence. The role requires the ability to work independently, necessitating the demonstration of the capability to work autonomously, confidently diagnose faults, and make well-informed technical decisions. Having a customer-centric approach and possessing strong communication skills are crucial for effective interaction with Practice Managers and staff.

It would be advantageous for you to also have basic IT skills and use of Microsoft programmes such as Excel.

You will be equipped with a work van for transportation, along with a fuel card. Upon commencement of your role, you will undergo a comprehensive, fully funded 4-week residential training course. These posts also include a Field Service Representative Recruitment and Retention Allowance of £2127 per annum as well as non-mandatory opportunities for overtime paid at time and a half.

These positions are advertised at 37 hours per week. Monday – Thursday 8:00 – 16:30, Friday 8:00 – 13:00.

Please note, there is one position for each of the locations advertised and interviews will be held face to face at these sites.

Unless held already, you will be expected to complete the MoD Biomedical Engineering course and relevant equipment manufacturer training within 6–12 months of arrival in post. This training is fully funded by the organisation.

This role requires you to have lived in the UK for the last 5 years and obtain Security Check (SC) security clearance. Clearance must be obtained without any caveats that prevent you from carrying out the role you’ve been recruited for. If it isn’t obtained or is obtained but with caveats that prevent you from carrying out the role, any conditional offer made to you will be withdrawn. Obtaining SC security clearance can be a lengthy process, and we reserve the right to withdraw any conditional offer made if the necessary security clearance isn’t obtained within 12 months.

We champion flexible ways of working. Regular in-person attendance is required to promote the benefits of face-to-face collaboration alongside flexibility of hours to support work-life balance and business need. Initially, you may be expected to attend more frequently to familiarise yourselves with the site, the team, and your role.
