We are seeking a visionary and high-impact Director of Health, Safety, Environment & Quality to join a leadership team. This pivotal role is designed for a strategic professional ready to take full accountability for Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality standards across a multi-site construction environment.
As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will not only govern compliance but also serve as a vital link between site operations and the Board.
The Role: Strategy, Governance & Leadership
- Set the overarching Health, Safety, Environment and Quality strategy, translating complex requirements into clear, simple site rules.
- Build, lead and mentor the Health, Safety, Environment and Quality team while maintaining full oversight of the departmental budget.
- Influence the business vision, setting ambitious targets and acting as a trusted confidant to senior stakeholders.
- Own the Health & Safety management system and ensure full legal compliance.
- Maintain a strong site presence to support delivery teams and directly improve operational performance.
- Drive a “right first time” quality culture across the business.
- Intervene early in first-fix quality processes to improve outcomes.
- Lead environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives.
- Work in partnership with operational teams to implement and embed strategy.
- Drive behavioural change, improve safety performance and ensure team competence through defined training standards.
