Rotherham, full time, £35,000 to £45,000 per annum depending upon experience, overtime paid at x1.5, AM /PM /Nights, 3 shift rotation.

Are you a skilled Maintenance Engineer looking to join a successful manufacturing business in Rotherham? We are seeking a proactive and experienced Maintenance Engineer with Electrical bias to support production operations through effective maintenance, fault finding, and continuous improvement activities.

Reporting into the Head of Engineering, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of plant machinery and associated equipment. Working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you will diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults, often under pressure and to tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults on production machinery and equipment.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities and maintain accurate maintenance records.
  • Record maintenance activities and spare parts usage accurately within the SAP system.
  • Minimise production downtime by responding quickly to equipment breakdowns and reporting issues promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation, company procedures, and safe systems of work.
  • Complete risk assessments, reports, and maintenance documentation as required.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of fault-finding processes.
  • Carry out electrical and mechanical installation work in accordance with current regulations and standards.
  • Work collaboratively with contractors, production teams, and colleagues across the business.
  • Participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota and provide overtime support when required.
  • Assist with production-related engineering tasks involving mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A recognised engineering trade qualification.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with PLC systems, drives, motors, and process control equipment.
  • The ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematic drawings.
  • Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
