SHEQ Advisor

Location: Scotland (Central Belt)

Salary: £42,000 – £48,000 + Car/Allowance + Benefits

About the Company:

We’re partnering with a leading infrastructure contractor with a strong presence across Scotland. Due to continued growth and an increasing workload across their project portfolio, they are looking to appoint an additional SHEQ Advisor to support operational teams across a network of projects throughout the Central Belt.

The business delivers critical infrastructure works and has built a strong reputation for safety, quality and client delivery. This role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse range of projects, supporting site teams and operational management in driving high standards of SHEQ performance.

The Key Responsibilities of the SHEQ Advisor:

  • Provide SHEQ support and guidance across multiple live infrastructure projects
  • Conduct site inspections, audits and assurance activities
  • Support project teams with risk management, safe systems of work and compliance requirements
  • Assist with incident investigations and ensure lessons learned are communicated across the business
  • Review RAMS, construction phase plans and contractor documentation
  • Support the ongoing development of the company’s safety culture and behavioural programmes
  • Build strong relationships with operational teams, clients and key stakeholders
  • Support compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards

The SHEQ Advisor will have:

  • Experience in a Health & Safety, HSE or SHEQ position within infrastructure, utilities, civil engineering, rail or construction
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or Construction Certificate
  • Strong understanding of UK health and safety legislation
  • Experience conducting audits, inspections and investigations
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the Central Belt
