Principal Software Engineer

Principal Engineer (Java) | London (Hybrid) | FinTech

Financial services experience is essential for this one.

We’re working with a B2B FinTech disrupting the SME lending market. Their SaaS platform is used by over 80 high street banks, challenger banks and specialist lenders to power smarter credit decisioning.

They’re hiring a Principal Engineer to act as the technical authority across multiple product teams. Part hands‑on builder, part mentor, part strategic voice with senior stakeholders.

What they’re after:

• At least 2 years as a Principal Engineer, Architect or equivalent
• Java and Kotlin on AWS
• SQL and NoSQL (Postgres, MongoDB)
• Frameworks like Spring, React, Temporal
• SaaS in FinTech, with a solid grasp of data governance
• A genuine passion for mentoring and growing engineers

The setup:

• Hybrid, offices in Shoreditch, London
• A few days a month on site or with clients
