Maintenance Operative

We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Operative/Assistant with a passion for making a difference to others. You’ll be working Part time (25 hrs per week with shifts to be agreed with successful candidate) at Cygnet Adarna House, helping provide a safe and healthy environment for the people in our care. Cygnet Adarna House is our rehabilitation service for men with mental illness and a secondary diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Supporting nine men, we provide a homely and community facing environment for individuals who are preparing for community life, but need further support to move to more independent living. Your day-to-day Provide a comprehensive maintenance & repair service Carry out a range of tasks including basic joinery, plumbing, painting & general building work Maintain plant, services & vehicles in working order Comply with safe working practices & report faulty equipment & potential hazards Travel to other sites & on occasions be on call to carry out emergency repairs outside of normal working hours Check the fire alarm points weekly, including fire exits, door retaining devices & fire emergency lights We are looking for people who have… Experienced in a similar role, or have worked in a self-employed capacity in recent years Skilled at DIY & general maintenance Previous experience of repairing of various equipment and materials, painting, decorating, plumbing, carpentry and basic wiring work. A working knowledge of health and safety requirements and safe working practices. Willing to travel & hold a full valid driving licence Able to communicate at all levels & record detailed, accurate maintenance information Friendly, conscientious & an excellent team member with a positive attitude Friendly, conscientious & an excellent team member with a positive attitude.
