Lead Clinical Safety Officer (Band 8a)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Nursing & AHP Informatics team at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust. Reporting to the Chief Nursing Information Officer, you will lead clinical digital safety across Trust programmes and legacy systems, ensuring clinical risk management activities are embedded into delivery and that patient safety is prioritised throughout the lifecycle of health IT systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Promote the role of clinical digital safety within the Trust to build a safety‑focused culture.
• Ensure the Trust is compliant with National Information Standards created and monitored via the Data Coordination Board, including DCB 0129 and DCB 0160, as the organisation is a designated manufacturer for some systems.
• Embed a strong, clinical risk management approach across programmes, providing visible board‑level assurance.
• Enable confident, safe digital transformation at scale and support the implementation of the Trust’s Digital Strategy, ensuring the effective and efficient use of healthcare technologies to support high quality and safe patient care.
