Due to continued growth, my client is recruiting for a Lead Data Engineer to join an innovative AI-powered SaaS organisation. The business helps enterprise clients unlock the value of their first-party data through intelligent platform solutions and is entering an exciting phase of growth, with multiple AI products and new technologies being developed. This is an opportunity to build and shape a Data Engineering function from the ground up while working alongside senior technical leaders.

THE LEAD DATA ENGINEER ROLE:
As Lead Data Engineer, you’ll own the Data Engineering function, setting engineering standards, defining best practices and mentoring a growing team while remaining hands-on with complex technical delivery. You’ll design and build scalable ETL and ELT pipelines, develop robust data models, oversee CI/CD processes, and ensure high-quality data solutions are delivered across AI, analytics and client platforms. You’ll also play a key role in driving AI adoption within the engineering workflow, helping improve efficiency, quality and delivery across the team.
DATA ENGINEER ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Commercial experience in a Lead or Senior Data Engineering position
- Strong SQL and Python development skills
- Expertise building ETL and ELT pipelines
- Experience designing scalable data models and data warehouses
- Knowledge of Azure, AWS or GCP cloud platforms
- Experience with CI/CD, Git and DevOps practices
- Strong understanding of data architecture and engineering best practices
- Previous experience mentoring or managing Data Engineers
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
