If you’re the kind of engineer who sees the same issue twice and immediately starts thinking about how to automate it away, this could be the role for you.
You’ll help evolve and modernise a global Quant Hedge Fund’s global end-user and Windows platforms.
This is a role that sits at the intersection of traditional Windows infrastructure and modern platform engineering, where the focus is on building, automating, and continuously improving rather than simply maintaining.
PowerShell is at the heart of the environment. The team believes repetitive work should be automated wherever possible, so you’ll be encouraged to identify inefficiencies, remove manual processes, and build scalable solutions that improve both the user experience and the operational effectiveness of the wider technology function.
You’ll take ownership of key Windows platforms and services, working across technologies including Active Directory, Group Policy, Entra ID, Exchange, Microsoft 365, VMware/vSphere, and endpoint management tooling.
Alongside day-to-day platform ownership, you’ll play a key role in major initiatives including Windows 10 to 11 migrations, Exchange Online migrations, infrastructure upgrades.
This is a highly collaborative environment where technology is viewed as a competitive advantage rather than a support function. You’ll work closely with colleagues across infrastructure, engineering, and the wider business to understand challenges, solve root-cause issues, and deliver long-term improvements that have a visible impact.
You’ll ideally have grown from a Windows Infrastructure or Systems Engineering background into automation and platform engineering. Strong PowerShell experience is essential, along with deep knowledge of Windows, Active Directory, Group Policy, and enterprise Microsoft environments. Experience with Infrastructure as Code technologies such as Ansible, Puppet, or Terraform would be advantageous, but a genuine automation mindset is more important than experience with any specific tool.
In return, you’ll join a technically strong team with significant ownership, exposure to large-scale projects, and the opportunity to influence how the environment evolves.
