Cost Engineer
Location: Newcastle
As Assystem’s Defence Infrastructure account continues to grow, we’re looking for a driven and proactive Cost Engineer to help keep our projects on track and on budget. You’ll play a key role in planning, forecasting, and reporting within a highly regulated environment. Based in our Newcastle office, this role also benefits from our flexible “new normal” approach supporting a blend of home and office working.
Your missions
- Implement cost control processes on work packages
- Prepare project budgets, cost forecasts, and cash flow projections across multiple work packages
- Monitor actual costs against approved baselines, identifying trends, variances, and potential risks to cost performance
- Deliver accurate, timely, and transparent cost reports
- Support change control processes, including evaluation of cost impacts associated with design changes, regulatory requirements, and scope evolution
- Collaborate closely with planning, engineering, procurement, and commercial teams to ensure alignment between cost, schedule, and technical scope
- Create applications for payment and invoices
