Children s Home Manager (1-Bed Residential Home)

Location: Prestwich, Greater Manchester

Salary: £50,000 – £70,000 per year

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced and passionate Children s Home Manager to lead a brand-new 1-bed therapeutic residential home based in Prestwich. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven professional to take on a rewarding leadership role within a high-quality, child-centred service.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for the full management and development of the home, ensuring outstanding care for one young person with complex needs. You will oversee all operational, regulatory and staffing requirements while promoting a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day running of a 1-bed children’s home.
• Lead, support and develop a small, dedicated staff team.
• Ensure the home meets Ofsted requirements and work toward Outstanding outcomes.
• Create and implement individualised care plans.
• Manage safeguarding, staffing rotas, budgeting and compliance.
• Build effective relationships with social workers, external professionals and families.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience within residential children s services (essential).
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards).
• Strong understanding of safeguarding and trauma-informed practice.
• Confident leader with excellent communication skills.
• Commitment to improving outcomes for young people.
