Our client is a well-established and forward-thinking practice with a strong and diverse private client portfolio, advising high net worth individuals, trustees, entrepreneurs, and family offices on a broad range of complex tax matters. At Associate Director level, you will play a central role in shaping the firm’s private client offering, building and maintaining key client relationships, and providing technically excellent advice across income tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, and trust-related matters. The firm has a clear and defined pathway for progression, making this an ideal platform for an ambitious professional.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading and developing a portfolio of private client engagements, delivering technically complex tax advice to high net worth individuals, trustees, and entrepreneurs
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for cross‑selling and business development within the firm
  • Managing, mentoring, and supporting junior members of the private client tax team, contributing to their technical and professional development
  • Overseeing the preparation and review of self‑assessment tax returns, estate planning advice, and trust tax compliance work
  • Contributing to the strategic growth of the private client department, including involvement in pitching for new clients and attending networking events

Requirements

  • CTA qualified (or equivalent), with significant experience in private client tax at a senior level
  • Must have previous experience working within a UK Practice environment
  • Strong technical knowledge across income tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, and trust taxation
  • Proven ability to manage and develop client relationships at senior level, with a commercial and client‑focused approach
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience of supervising and developing junior team members
