Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the operational leadership team working closely with Clinical colleagues within the Neighbourhood Nursing Out of Hours Service. You will manage support staff day to day, oversee the E Roster, sickness, training and performance, and handle complex decision making alongside HR. You will ensure the service meets capacity, demand and KPIs and support business continuity. The role is based at Hunslet Health Centre but may require citywide travel. Service operates 7 days a week; shifts are usually 7pm-3am.
Main duties of the job
- Work with the Operational Team Manager and Service Manager to support and oversee staff across the service.
- Manage data related to appraisals, one‑to‑ones, training and performance, ensuring quality and outcomes.
- Proactively ensure daily, weekly, monthly and annual targets are achieved.
- Handle day‑to‑day staff matters, including return‑to‑work interviews, policy support and liaison with Occupational Health and HR.
- Collaborate with Clinical Team Managers to identify areas for improvement and enforce performance standards.
- Support rota oversight and, when required, deputise for the Operational Team Manager.

Working hours and schedule
32 hours per week, typically 4 shifts each month with some flexible working to meet service requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience managing staff and complex decision making within a healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of workforce planning, HR processes and performance management.
- A clear understanding of capacity, demand and KPIs in a community health environment.
- Strong communication, relationship‑building and business continuity skills.
