Accounts Semi Senior

Our client, an accountancy and advisory firm, is looking for an Accounts Semi Senior to join their team in Peterborough. You’ll be joining their Accounts & Business Advisory Services (ABAS) team.

You’ll work alongside experienced professionals supporting a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses, SMEs, and growing organisations.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Prepare financial statements from source records through to final accounts, ensuring they are ready for review by the appropriate manager and comply with relevant financial reporting standards.
• Produce supporting accounting schedules for the balances and transactions included within the financial statements.
• Prepare accounts in line with UK GAAP requirements.
• Work across a varied portfolio of accounts, including FRS 102, FRS 102 Section 1A, partnership accounts and consolidated financial statements.
• Manage your workload effectively to ensure assignments are completed on time and within budget.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients.
• Communicate directly with clients, or through the relevant manager, to obtain information and resolve any queries efficiently.
• Deliver a high standard of client service, ensuring expectations are consistently met.
• Provide timely and practical recommendations on accounting matters, financial reporting requirements and the accounting systems and software used by clients.

What We’re Looking For:

• AAT qualified or currently studying towards an ACCA or ACA qualification.
• A minimum of two to three years’ practical experience preparing accounts within an accountancy practice.
• A solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principles.
• Experience using cloud-based accounting software, with knowledge of Xero and QuickBooks being advantageous.
• A basic understanding of tax, including tax computations, PAYE and VAT.
