Firhill Youth Project & CSH: Treasurer – Board Trustee

Do you want to be part of a growing and successful organisation that is improving wellbeing and access to sporting opportunities for young people aged 9 to 25 in North Glasgow?

The Firhill Youth Project and Community Sports Hub SCIO is supported by key partners Glasgow Kayak Club, Scottish Rowing, Glasgow Life/Sport, Partick Thistle Football Club and is a voluntary organisation which aims to positively impact lives in the North Glasgow community.

Based at the Firhill Basin, we provide local young people with a number of free/affordable, accessible, and sustainable opportunities to become active and stay active in their local community through rowing and other water sports activities.

We are looking to appoint a Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees. Below is some specific tasks:

Financial Management – Maintain accurate financial records, manage the club bank account and monitor cash flow.

Budgeting & Planning – Prepare an annual budget with the board, track financial expenditure, provide financial input into club planning and funding bids.

Reporting – Produce financial reports for committee meetings, annual financial statement at AGM, ensure transparent reporting for grants and funders.

Income & Payments – Oversee income and expenditure, authorise and process payment for invoices/salaries.

Compliance & Governance – Maintain proper financial controls, ensure Charity meets financial regulations and support submission of annual accounts to OSCR.

Funding & Grants – Monitor Grant spend, assist with financial reports for funders and provide financial projections.

Trustees will be required to spend approximately 6-8 hours a month, including quarterly meetings with the management committee.

All trustees will have access to suitable training opportunities, to help them fulfil and develop in their role. We are looking to develop a diverse Board with a wide range of skills and experience and welcome applications from people of all genders, sexual orientations, backgrounds, nationalities, religions, and beliefs. Applicants must be aged 18+.
