Gastroenterology Consultant — Endoscopy & Inpatient Care

Responsibilities

• Outpatient clinics
• Endoscopy sessions
• Contribution to Gastroenterology inpatient ward cover – specialty and medical
• Contribution to the Gastroenterology inpatient triage service
• Participation in MDTs- relevant to experience
• Advice & guidance to primary care
• Support for trainees, and specialist nurses
• Participation in the GI bleed rota – relevant to experience
• Participation in the elective endoscopy weekend, working towards 7-day elective endoscopy
• Ward rounds medical outliers, care of medical inpatients admitted to the hospital for whom the gastroenterology team has responsibility, either on the main gastroenterology ward or as part of the outlying team across the hospital (delivered as separate commitments in rotation).
