Position: Manager, Health & Care Finance

We are a dynamic consulting firm focused on delivering sustainable change to NHS organisations. This role supports our Health & Care practice, adding value through financial improvement and transformation projects.

Overview

Help shape and deliver finance‑focused engagements, foster client relationships, and drive the strategic direction of the practice.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and shape high‑impact transformation programmes for NHS commissioners and providers.
  • Deliver end‑to‑end project delivery, managing client relationships and team delivery.
  • Develop client proposals, support business growth, and lead bids.
  • Contribute to thought leadership and sector strategy.
  • Act as a line manager to junior team members.
  • Maintain a collaborative, supportive community.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • 6‑8 years of experience in healthcare consulting or NHS financial management/improvement.
  • Fully qualified accountant (CIPFA or CIMA preferred; ACA or ACCA also considered).
  • Proven delivery of financial improvement programmes in NHS sectors.
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to build pragmatic financial models.
  • Experience advising NHS leaders (CFO, COO, programme directors).
  • Understanding of NHS financial frameworks, funding flows and contracting mechanisms.
  • Experience with NHS business cases (SOC, OBC, FBC) and evidence‑based strategy.
  • Strong commercial and business development acumen.
  • Programme delivery and transformation capability.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to balance big‑picture and detail.
  • Proactive ownership and collaborative mindset.
