Control System Engineer (Ignition) – 6 months+ – Remote

We are looking for an Ignition Specialist to support a global customer focused on delivering advanced control system solutions for mission-critical projects. This role leads technical deliverables across design, integration, and commissioning phases, while supporting system architecture decisions, improving engineering standards, and mentoring junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop PLC, SCADA, BMS, and EPMS systems
  • Produce and review control system architecture, software designs, and documentation
  • Deliver engineering work across multiple projects within scope and deadlines
  • Support system integration, testing (FAT/SAT), and commissioning activities
  • Troubleshoot, validate, and optimize system performance
  • Interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and control narratives
  • Identify and resolve technical issues and risks
  • Contribute to value engineering and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and act as a technical interface between stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and company standards

Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years in controls engineering, automation, or system integration
  • Strong knowledge of PLC, SCADA, BMS, and EPMS platforms (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider, Ignition)
  • Experience in control system design, development, and integration
  • Familiarity with FAT, SAT, and commissioning processes
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • High attention to detail with a commitment to quality and safety
