We’re looking for a Production Manager to lead the day-to-day activities at one of our depots. In this pivotal role, you’ll guide teams, shape performance, and ensure our rolling stock is safe, reliable, and ready for service—every single day.

As Production Manager, you’ll be instrumental in delivering:

  • On-time maintenance and repairs, meeting agreed SLAs and budget targets

What You’ll Be Doing

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and supporting depot staff to work safely, effectively, and to high standards
  • Ensuring maintenance output and SLA targets are achieved through smart resource planning
  • Creating and sustaining a safe, positive, and inclusive working environment
  • Developing a cost-effective, customer-focused workforce, championing continuous improvement
  • Managing depot activities so rolling stock is delivered on time, to standard, and ready for service
  • Driving environmental performance improvements within the depot
  • Producing manpower and workload indicators to ensure efficient deployment of resources
  • Deploying fleet into service in line with the train service plan and franchise requirements
  • Maintaining accurate and effective maintenance management systems
  • Providing technical guidance and making decisions aligned with engineering and industry standards
  • Leading or supporting incident and accident investigations
  • Working closely with Training and Competency teams to develop skills, confidence, and capability
  • Supporting wider business objectives through additional tasks as directed by the Depot Manager
