Security Engineer

Role Description

This is a full‑time hybrid role, based in the Midlands. As a Fire & Security Engineer, you will perform installation, maintenance, fault‑finding and repair tasks across various fire and security systems, including fire alarms, CCTV, access control and intruder alarms. You will ensure compliance with industry standards, provide excellent customer service, complete detailed reports, and work collaboratively with the broader team to meet service‑level agreements. Additional duties may include conducting upgrades, system testing and offering guidance to customers on operational practices to maintain safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in the installation, maintenance and repair of fire systems, including fire alarms, emergency lighting and fire doors
• Experience working with security systems such as CCTV, access control, intruder alarms and intercoms
• Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills to handle system failures and ensure timely repairs
• Knowledge of relevant British Standards and compliance regulations for fire and security systems
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
• A valid UK driving licence is essential
• Relevant qualifications such as NVQ in Electrical Installations, FIA certifications or equivalent are desirable
• Experience in facilities management systems, such as HVAC or lift maintenance, is a plus
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks in a dynamic environment
