Apprentice Procurement Officer | Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust

The primary role of the Procurement team is to support all service areas within the Trust, providing procurement advice, guidance and support on a range of requirements for goods, works and services in line with the Trust Standing Financial Instructions and current UK and European Public Sector Procurement Law.

Responsibilities

• Manage all operational aspects of the Procurement function, ensuring that the Trust complies with Trust Financial Standing Instructions and current UK and European Public Sector Procurement law, to a high standard, whilst providing a responsive quality Procurement service.
• Process orders and obtain quotations to support Trust requirements in a timely manner.
• Work in partnership with service areas to establish user requirements, investigate procurement needs by means of cost‑benefit analysis, and then benchmark and recommend appropriate compliant procurement solutions, highlighting savings opportunities.
• Make appropriate use of Trust computer applications (e‑Systems) to ensure all tasks and duties are carried out with maximum efficiency and effectiveness, including the use of procurement systems to enable the creation of orders, quotations, catalogues, tenders and contracts.
• Support in managing and maintaining Trust systems and processes appropriately and in partnership with other identified team members, as allocated by the Procurement Manager.
• Support service areas in compiling Trust quotations and specifications.
• Support, assist and empower service areas to incorporate pre‑procurement planning and demonstrate good procurement practice (e.g., awareness of lead times and processes), and to then evidence savings and efficiencies post award.

This role is an apprenticeship position. Throughout the duration of this role you will be expected to attend college, complete assignments and undergo a full‑time role.
