Property Litigation Solicitor | 3 years+ PQE | Leeds | Salary up to £70k p.a DOE

A leading law firm looking to recruit dedicated Property Litigation Solicitors for a highly sought permanent position.

Role Overview

Our client’s Litigation department assists with a wide range of challenging and complex property dispute matters, advising institutional landlords, developers and private individuals.

  • Professional negligence
  • Right of way disputes

  • Ownership of property disputes

Main Responsibilities

  • Report directly to Department Director
  • Adopt a professional proactive approach, with strong client care skills and a sensitive and sympathetic understanding of clients’ needs
  • Responsible for all aspects of litigation work and, on occasions, provide technical expertise and guidance to other team members
  • Manage an appropriate caseload of varying complexity
  • Key tasks include:
    • Boundary disputes – resolving disagreements between neighbours about property lines.
    • Landlord and tenant issues – dealing with rent arrears, lease breaches, evictions, and lease renewals.
    • Rights of way and easements – advising on access rights and land usage.
    • Nuisance and trespass claims – acting where a person’s use of their property interferes with another’s.
    • Disputes over property ownership – handling co‑ownership disagreements or claims under trusts.
    • Development issues – disputes relating to property development, restrictive covenants and planning.
    • Disrepair – acting for landlords and tenants
    • Mortgage repossessions
    • Commercial property matters – lease‑related matters: dilapidations, rent arrears, lease forfeiture
  • Attend clients, take instructions and prepare cases
  • Handle correspondence
  • Maintain accurate time costing procedures
  • Implement recommendations from monthly file reviews promptly
  • Ensure compliance with file management procedures

Key Skills Required

  • Valid practising certificate at time of application
  • Team player, adaptable to new challenges
  • Excellent client care, proactive, and able to resolve practicalities sensitively
  • Strong networking, communication and business‑generation skills
  • Excellent analytical and organisational skills
  • Judgment, initiative and sound decision‑making
  • Knowledge of publicly funded litigation and ability to service privately funded cases
  • Experience in probate litigation
  • Advocacy experience is an advantage
  • IT skills – Microsoft Office and document‑management systems
