About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established construction business delivering a residential development in Bridlington. The scheme consists of 54 affordable homes alongside an extra care apartment block, offering a fantastic opportunity to be part of a meaningful and community-focused project.
This role will suit a commercially aware Quantity Surveyor looking to take ownership of key project elements, supporting the successful delivery of works through effective cost control, procurement, and contract management.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the commercial management of the project, working closely with site and project managers to ensure financial performance is maintained.
- Monitor project costs, assist with monthly forecasts, and identify any variances against budget.
- Play an active role in subcontractor procurement, including preparing enquiries, analysing returns, and assisting with contract placement.
- Manage subcontractor accounts, including valuations, certifications, and payment processes.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of external valuations in line with contractual requirements, as well as supporting the management of these through to final account agreement.
- Maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and contribute to cost value reconciliation.
- Work closely with the wider team, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and providing support on cost estimation and commercial processes where required.
About You
- Have experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry, with a solid understanding of commercial processes and project delivery.
- Have experience working with standard forms of contract such as JCT or NEC and a good understanding of both main and subcontract conditions.
- Hold an HND or degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field, or be working towards this.
- Possess strong numerical and analytical skills, along with the ability to manage workloads and communicate effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office and ideally hold a valid UK driving licence and CSCS card.
