Overview
Our expanding semiconductor start-up client based in Cardiff is seeking a Senior Analog IC Design Engineer to play a key role in building its next-generation chip design team.
This is a hybrid position, with an expectation of three days per week in the office. This is a rare opportunity to join at an early stage and make a genuine impact. As an experienced Analog IC Design Engineer, you will help shape the company’s technical direction, contributing to the development of innovative silicon solutions from concept through to tape-out. Working alongside highly experienced digital IC and systems engineers, you will lead the definition and implementation of analog and mixed-signal design flows, delivering real, production-ready silicon.
Beyond hands-on design, you will also play an important role in mentoring and developing junior engineers, helping to build a strong and collaborative engineering culture.
Responsibilities
- Proven expertise in analog IC design, with a strong track record in areas such as data converters, power management, RF, or mixed-signal systems
- Experience delivering designs through full tape-out and silicon validation
- Deep understanding of analog fundamentals, including noise, stability, matching, and layout-aware design
- Experience across the full IC development lifecycle, from specification through to production
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence and lead technical direction
- A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for working in a start-up environment
