About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical & Electrical Engineer to support a range of construction projects. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality mechanical engineering solutions, from initial design through to project completion, ensuring full compliance with client requirements and relevant legislation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out mechanical engineering design calculations and produce drawings and specifications
  • Assist in the preparation of tender documentation
  • Design, programme, and supervise projects with minimal supervision
  • Oversee heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) installations
  • Supervise on-site works and manage contractors
  • Monitor and direct Clerks of Works and Inspectors as required
  • Liaise effectively with client representatives and stakeholders
  • Ensure adherence to contract documentation and quality standards
  • Prepare cost estimates from pre-contract stage through to final account agreement
  • Comply with all organisational procedures, financial regulations, and standing orders
  • Represent the organisation professionally, maintaining its reputation and profile

Candidate Profile

  • Strong experience across all areas of mechanical engineering design
  • Proficient in IT systems and AutoCAD (essential)
  • Ability to manage projects independently and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self‑motivated, proactive, and enthusiastic

Qualifications & Experience

  • HND/HNC (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years’ post‑qualification experience
  • Proven track record in construction management
  • Experience managing contracts and contractors
  • Demonstrated high‑level technical expertise within the construction industry

Additional Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
