People Product – Performance & Culture Specialist

Monzo is building a new People Product team focused on delivering world‑class employee experience across performance and culture. This role is within that squad, partnering with People Ops, Reward, and Tech to shape and evolve the performance lifecycle.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Own the performance lifecycle: Deep‑dive into every touchpoint of the performance journey, from ambitious goal‑setting and real‑time feedback to meaningful reviews and personal development.
  • Bridge the gaps: Work cross‑functionally with People Ops, Partners, Reward, and Tech to build and lead the execution of seamless, end‑to‑end processes that actually work for humans.
  • Be data‑driven: Use research and analytics to spot friction, measure what matters, and ruthlessly prioritise the work that has the biggest impact.
  • Test & learn: Pilot new ideas, iterate constantly, and keep the Monzonaut experience front and centre.

What You’ll Own

  • Discovery and design: Conduct surveys, interviews, and analysis to identify practical improvements that will make a meaningful difference for Monzonauts.
  • Building the toolkit: Partner with People Tech to design tools and experiences such as self‑service dashboards and improved feedback loops.
  • Shipping and iterating: Test ideas, run pilots, and validate before scaling across Monzo.
  • Running the show: Manage and coordinate central performance projects, collaborating with SMEs and workstream leads.
  • Landing the change: Ensure new tools and approaches are adopted effectively and communicated clearly.
  • Measuring success: Define metrics and track improvements over time.
  • Keeping it fair: Spot risks like bias or unintended consequences early and ensure a consistent, fair experience.

What You’ll Bring

  • You care deeply about making Monzo a better place to work and building things that matter.
  • You are collaborative and thoughtful, good at bringing people together across teams, disciplines, and time zones.
  • You get to the heart of a problem, especially when things feel messy or unclear.
  • You are comfortable switching between longer‑term thinking and the practical work needed to keep things moving.
  • You use data to drive decisions while staying close to the human experience.
  • You have strong judgement and can make thoughtful calls even when there is no perfect answer.
  • You challenge the status‑quo and ask whether there is a better way to do things.
  • You are curious, passionate about learning, and enjoy sharing ideas and helping others learn.

Benefits

  • c.£45,000 salary + incentive awards tied to performance
  • Flexible working hours with trust to work the hours you need
  • £1,000 learning budget each year for books, courses, and conferences
  • Remote work setup, including a MacBook and additional support for fully remote workers
