ASD Teaching Assistant – Autism Support Specialist SEN School (Stroud)
Location: Stroud
Hours: Full‑time (8:30 am – 4:00 pm)
Start date: ASAP
We’re looking for a compassionate, patient, and driven individual to make a real difference in a specialist Autism (ASD) setting. If you have a passion for supporting children with additional needs and want to gain hands‑on, meaningful experience, this role offers a therapeutic, structured, and supportive environment.
Role Overview
As an ASD Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to pupils with Autism
- Support emotional regulation, behaviour management, and communication development
- Deliver structured, sensory‑based learning activities
- Work within a consistent, routine‑driven environment
- Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and SEN professionals
- Help pupils develop independence, confidence, and social skills
What We’re Looking For
- Empathetic, resilient, and proactive
- Passionate about Autism, SEN, and child development
- A strong communicator and relationship‑builder
- Background in Psychology, Education, Counselling, Care, or similar (desirable)
- Experience in SEN, ASD, care, or mental health settings (beneficial but not essential)
