Job Overview
As a Level 2 Children’s Residential Carer (known locally as Residential Care Officer Level 2), you will provide supervision and shift leadership, develop projects for children, mentor new staff, chair professional meetings, manage household tasks, and prepare young people for independent living.

Qualifications & Experience
- Basic IT skills and knowledge of the caring profession
- Willingness to obtain a QCF qualification in working with children
- Driving licence desirable but negotiable
- Fluency in spoken English essential (Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016)
- No prior professional care experience required; comprehensive training provided
Salary and Working Hours
Salary: £32,597 – £35,412 plus a sleeping‑in payment of £41.78 and mileage reimbursed at 45p per mile. Overtime is paid at time‑and‑a‑half. Shift pattern is full‑time, permanent with a rota split between different shifts, some including sleeping at the home. Rota is given in advance to ensure a good work/life balance.
