Newly qualified Construction Lawyer – Suffolk

Our client are Legal 500 and Chambers recommended as one of East Anglia’s leading law firms. The firm offers a broad range of legal advice to individuals and companies in respect of a large range of legal services both nationally and internationally and are consistently ranked highly for providing excellent client service. They now wish to recruit a newly or recently qualified Construction Lawyer. Ideally, candidates should have had exposure to a broad range of contentious and non-contentious construction work during their training and/or within their current role, including, in particular, experience dealing with:

  • Acting in adjudications and Technology and Construction Court (TCC) matters
  • Providing high-quality, commercial advice to developers, main contractors, sub-contractors, and construction professionals
  • Reviewing and drafting construction contracts and related documents

The Construction team carry out a high calibre of work and have been credited with being one of the best in the region. Working with both companies and individuals, the team act on a vast range of matters locally and nationally and pride themselves on building strong relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Manage own caseload and assist others in the team
  • Manage own financial housekeeping
  • Conduct meetings with clients both face to face and remotely
  • Assess legal issues and advise accordingly / conduct legal research / advise on costs and scope of work
  • Draft documents and letters of advice
  • Keep up to date with law and practice
  • Have excellent communication and team skills

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Newly qualified or recently qualified Construction Lawyer
  • Exposure to a broad range of contentious and non-contentious construction work
  • Experience dealing with adjudications and TCC matters is preferred
