Speciality Support Nurse – Fragility Fractures

This is an exciting time for the Trauma and Orthopaedics Clinical Nurse Specialist and Specialty Support Nurse team at CUH. We have a Band 6 Specialty Support Nurse post within our Fragility Fracture inpatient team, providing an opportunity to come and join us. Our dynamic, motivated team of specialist nurses work across both trauma and elective patient pathways to provide the highest standards of evidence‑based care.

This role will primarily support the Fragility Fracture team, and will work alongside Resident Doctors and Consultants providing excellent care to our frail older adult population. The role also provides the opportunity to enhance knowledge and skills in caring for this complex patient group among the wider multi‑disciplinary team.

These clinically based roles will require you to complete clinical assessment and examination skills modules. We are proud of our in-house and local university education opportunities, providing professional development and a rewarding working environment.

We are an integral part of various inpatient and outpatient services within our specialty. This is a varied role for the right candidate. We are looking for self‑motivated nurses with current experience in trauma and orthopaedics who are keen to further develop their knowledge and skills.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is responsible for the provision of high‑quality, patient‑focused care.

Responsible for assessing, developing and implementing specialist nursing care programmes.

Responsible for providing specialist advice and support to, and liaising with, other staff.
