About The Role
We are seeking a skilled Linux Systems Administrator to join Akkodis’s dedicated IT operations team. This role is pivotal in maintaining and enhancing the Linux‑based infrastructure that supports both internal systems and client‑facing platforms. The ideal candidate will have a passion for automation, cloud technologies, and building resilient, scalable environments. You will be responsible for managing Linux servers, implementing infrastructure‑as‑code, and ensuring the security and performance of critical systems. Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a strong background in Linux administration, with practical experience in cloud computing and automation. Essential qualifications include proficiency in Ubuntu Linux, Bash scripting, and Terraform. A solid understanding of MySQL database management and AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, and VPC is required. Candidates should demonstrate familiarity with Linux security best practices, system hardening, and monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or CloudWatch. A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred, along with relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC).
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain Ubuntu Linux servers across cloud and on‑premises environments, ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Manage core Linux services including systemd, SSH, networking configurations, and firewall rules (UFW/iptables).
- Implement and maintain infrastructure‑as‑code using Terraform, automating provisioning and configuration management processes.
- Develop and enhance Bash scripts to automate routine operational tasks, reducing manual intervention and increasing efficiency.
- Administer MySQL databases, including backups, performance tuning, replication, and recovery procedures.
- Support and optimize AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, and VPC for scalable and secure cloud infrastructure.
- Ensure system security by applying patches, managing vulnerabilities, and implementing security best practices across all platforms.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity, proactively identifying and resolving issues to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including Security, Network, Product, and Service Delivery to align infrastructure with organizational goals.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and incident reports to maintain comprehensive operational records.
