This organisation is a specialist development advisory consultancy, formed as an extension of an established property developer with a strong track record of delivering high quality, design led urban schemes.

The business provides end-to-end advisory services across the full development lifecycle, supporting clients from early stage feasibility through to delivery and exit. Core services include financial modelling, development programming, procurement and cost management, planning and statutory consents, project delivery, and sales/disposal strategy.

Operating with a flexible model, the team can engage at any stage of a project – whether providing targeted input or managing the full process. The consultancy is particularly focused on complex or high impact developments, with a reputation for unlocking value in challenging opportunities and helping clients maximise returns while mitigating risk through structured, commercially driven advice.

Role Overview

The Business Development Manager will play a key role in driving growth by identifying new opportunities, developing client relationships, and increasing market presence. This position combines strategic planning with hands-on business generation and relationship management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities through research, networking, and direct outreach
  • Develop and execute strategies to grow revenue and strengthen market position
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and key stakeholders
  • Understand client requirements and position tailored advisory solutions
  • Lead negotiations on commercial terms, contracts, and agreements
  • Work closely with internal teams to align business development with service delivery and go-to-market plans
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to inform approach
  • Maintain accurate reporting on pipeline activity, performance, and opportunities
  • Represent the business at industry events, conferences, and networking forums

Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related discipline (MBA advantageous)
  • Demonstrated experience in business development, sales, or account management
  • Strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation and influencing skills
  • Confident communicator with strong presentation ability
  • Proven ability to build and sustain long-term client relationships
  • Strategic mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Self-driven, target-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
  • Proficient in CRM systems and Microsoft Office
