Technical Card Payments Operations Support Account Manager

Location: London / HybridContract: 12-Month ContractPotential: Strong opportunity to convert to permanent

A client of ours in the card payments sector is looking to appoint a Technical Card Payments Operations Support Account Manager on an initial 12-month contract, with the intention of potentially converting the successful individual into a permanent hire over the longer term.

This is an excellent opportunity for a payments professional with a strong background in cards operations, participant support, transaction flows, compliance coordination, reporting and project support.

Job scope

You will support a broad range of stakeholders across the payments ecosystem, including acquirers, issuers, network-to-network partners and processors.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Providing operational and participant support across complex card payments issues
  • Researching and resolving escalated situations affecting participants and transaction processing
  • Supporting business development teams with initiatives to expand acceptance, issuance and authorisation approval rate optimisation
  • Supporting participants through the semi-annual release process
  • Managing and coordinating certification activities
  • Ensuring participants remain compliant with relevant operating rules and regulations
  • Coordinating EMEA compliance activity, including waivers, auditing and BCP data reviews
  • Supporting internal and external stakeholders on network initiatives
  • Coordinating settlement issue resolution
  • Supporting ProtectBuy / SCA-related project management and coordination
  • Analysing end-to-end transaction processing, including authorisations, clearing and disputes
  • Troubleshooting transaction issues and acceptance complaints
  • Supporting issuer and acquirer launches
  • Leading Salesforce-related activity to improve team efficiency and automate EMEA reporting
  • Managing EMEA reporting data, forum presentations, business reviews and ad hoc reporting
  • Coordinating with senior managers and directors on wider team and employee engagement activities

Skills and Experience Required

  • Strong experience within the cards and payments industry
  • Previous experience in operations support, account support, scheme operations or participant support
  • Good understanding of credit card authorisation and wider transaction flows
  • Experience troubleshooting payment processing issues across the transaction lifecycle
  • Strong project coordination skills
  • Ability to work with both clients and internal stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience creating client presentations, summaries and reporting packs
  • Strong working knowledge of Word and Excel
  • Comfortable coordinating meetings, actions and solution follow-up
