North Tyneside Council is looking for a Commissioning Officer to join our Adult & Public Health Commissioning Service.
Responsibilities
- Supporting local and regional collaborative commissioning activity – developing quality frameworks and toolkits, gathering intelligence, engagement with providers, service users and other stakeholders, and developing specifications;
- Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements;
- Ensuring efficient use of resources and value for money;
- Attending and supporting placement and resource panels;
- Sourcing specialist social care placements;
- Dealing with placement related issues and queries from providers, settings and services – regarding safeguarding notifications, contract compliance, service delivery and funding;
- Undertaking monitoring of social care provision within North Tyneside, the wider region and, where required, outside of the North East.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Knowledge of Adult Social Care, with experience of working in either a commissioning environment or a related area;
- Strong relationship‑building skills with colleagues from across the Authority’s people‑based services and corporate teams, and ability to work with other Local Authorities, schools, providers, community and voluntary sector partners and other stakeholders;
- Experience supporting joint commissioning activity with colleagues from the North East & North Cumbria Integrated Care Board (ICB);
- An Enhanced DBS Check will be required for this post.
