Driver Hire Winchester is currently recruiting for a Production / Assembly Technician on behalf of our client based in Winchester. Our client specialises in the manufacture of high-quality lighting systems, and this role would suit a technically skilled individual with experience in soldering, wiring, and mechanical assembly who thrives in a fast‑paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out soldering and wiring to a high standard.
• Complete basic mechanical assembly, including drilling and cutting aluminium.
• Read and interpret technical drawings.
• Perform cable wiring, crimping, and soldering tasks.
• Test products and carry out production inspections.
• Work to tight deadlines while maintaining excellent quality standards.
• Communicate effectively with team members.

Skills & Experience Required

• Minimum of 2 years’ hand soldering experience (essential).
• At least 2 years’ professional assembly experience.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving ability.
• Reliable, self‑motivated, and able to work under pressure.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

The Package

• Competitive salary of £28,000 – £30,000 (depending on experience).
• 20 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays.
