Role Overview
As a Supply Chain Officer, you will manage the supply of both medical and non‑medical consumables across all UCLH sites. Your day‑to‑day tasks will include ordering, receiving, checking, distribution, and store and product management, while resolving discrepancies and maintaining smooth communication with suppliers and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the supply of medical consumables, non‑medical consumables (excluding capital purchases, sterile services products and pharmaceuticals) to user departments across all UCLH sites.
- Oversee receiving, checking, receipt and distribution processes.
- Maintain appropriate stock levels and manage store rooms, ensuring compliance with health and safety.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies, contact suppliers, and convey information to stakeholders timely.
- Report non‑compliance, inefficiencies, or inaccuracies in existing systems/processes to the Supply Chain Supervisor.
- Provide excellent customer service and support to all areas of supply chain activity managed under the Procurement and Supply Chain Department.
- Work collaboratively and empathetically with colleagues, customers, and managers.
- Perform physical activities such as walking, standing, pulling, pushing, bending, stretching, lifting, carrying, unpacking and packing.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- IT competency.
- Good numeracy and literacy.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform the required physical tasks.
- Reliable, personable, and possessing a strong work ethic.
- Knowledge of supply chain/logistics practices or experience in the NHS, healthcare, industry, or retail environments is desirable; full training will be provided.
- Legal right to work in the UK; sponsorship not available.
