Detailed job description and main responsibilities
About the Role
As our new Consultant in Restorative Dentistry, you will:
- Play a key role in delivering specialist restorative care for oncology patients as part of a highly skilled multidisciplinary team.
- Provide consultant‑level expertise in all aspects of Restorative Dentistry, supporting both routine and complex cases.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across Maxillofacial, Head & Neck Oncology, and Prosthetics to offer integrated, patient‑centred care.
- Contribute to the department’s culture of subspecialism, offering complementary skills that enhance and expand existing service provision.
- Train, supervise, and inspire junior doctors and allied health professionals.
- Deliver outpatient clinics at our East Grinstead site and participate fully in departmental activity.
Qualification and Eligibility
- Eligible for full registration with the General Dental Council at the time of appointment and with a current licence to practice.
- BDS Dental qualification registerable with the General Dental Council.
- Successful completion of MFDS or equivalent at time of application.
- Higher degree i.e., MD/PhD or equivalent to support research interest.
- Evidence of implant‑based rehabilitation for head and neck oncology patients.
- Suitable UK professional registration.
