Balfour Beatty is seeking a dynamic Area Project Quality Engineer to contribute to the Net Zero Teesside (NZT) project based at our site in Redcar and Cleveland.

Responsibilities

The Quality Inspector role will support in reviewing, approving and upholding the necessary quality standards being delivered in the facility and by our supply chain partners. Working as part of a wider team, this role will ensure all necessary documentation, procedures and inspections have taken place as required by the project quality requirements.

  • QC Engineer reporting to the Quality Manager
  • Promote a Right First Time Culture
  • Setting QA/QC Inspectors to work
  • Ensure the quality standards of the business and the client are consistently met and compliant with the Specifications; ATEX/COMPEX
  • Encourage continuous improvement across the Project
  • Promotion and implementation of the Project Quality Management System
  • Interact with project construction and suppliers in accordance with ITP’s to ensure correct fabrication & Installation
  • Conversant with fabrication specifications
  • Fluent with material certification review
  • Participate with Audit activities both at suppliers works and on‑site
  • Timely, effective and concise reporting
  • Promote a disciplined approach to supplier deliverable approval and concurrent review of Lifetime Quality Records (LTQRs)
  • FAT /SAT inspections

Qualifications

  • Working in a QA function or QC function with development into QA via lead audit and CQI membership preferred
  • Oversight of subcontractors, compilation and review of lifetime records. Understanding of ISO 9001 quality management systems and Lifetime Quality Records (LTQRs)
  • Maintenance of package status & progress reporting, raising issues and liaising with the project and client QA/QC team
  • Electrical Experience on Installation, termination and testing
  • ATEX-600079 Standards certification desirable
  • COMPEX experience desirable
  • Understanding and familiarity of working within a team culture
  • Experience of working within a highly regulated industry
  • Experienced with major Project delivery
  • Suitably Qualified and Experienced Person for the applicable role
