Job Description:

We are looking for two full‑time (37 hours) Business Officers to join our busy team providing administration and financial support to the Family Support & Safeguarding Teams. One post will be based in Cambridge and one in Ely.

Responsibilities

  • Call handling, paper and electronic correspondence, and communications in a variety of forms.
  • Database inputting, analysis and general Excel recording.
  • Processing of papers and reports in preparation for meetings and the distribution of paperwork.
  • Taking minutes at statutory meetings.
  • Processing and raising invoices.
  • Updating children’s records on the internal system.
  • Liaising with external partners.
  • Working alongside and supporting Social Workers and Team Managers.

You will need good administration skills and the ability to prioritise as this is a fast‑paced role often with statutory deadlines. You will need excellent customer service and communication skills as you will be liaising with external agencies such as the Police, Health and Schools. You will be expected to work on your own initiative, keep calm under pressure and work to tight deadlines. You should have a methodical and concise approach to tasks and the ability to prioritise workloads effectively. A comprehensive understanding of Microsoft packages (Word and Excel) and the ability to use databases is required.

About you

Essential – General Education to GCSE standard with an A‑C grade in English & Maths or equivalent standard.

Desirable – CLAIT/IBT2/RSA/ECDL.

Desirable – NVQ or other qualification in Business Administration.
