Are you ready to shape the future of technology delivery within a purpose-driven organisation?
We’re seeking an experienced Head of Technology Portfolio Delivery to play a key role in driving forward our clients technology strategy and ensuring major change initiatives land successfully.
About the role
In this senior leadership position, you’ll work closely with the CTO to oversee the full breadth of our IT change agenda, with a particular focus on their operations. You’ll take accountability for a diverse portfolio of programmes and projects, making sure they are aligned to strategic priorities, appropriately resourced, and delivering meaningful outcomes for the organisation.
Acting as the CTO’s deputy, you’ll be the central escalation point for project delivery and will help shape the standards, culture, and practices that underpin how we deliver technology change.
Key responsibilities
- Set the direction for technology project delivery, ensuring approaches meet business goals and regulatory expectations
- Oversee planning cycles and allocate resources across internal teams and external suppliers to maximise efficiency and capability
- Lead, coach, and support a group of functional specialists covering project management, business analysis, development, and testing
- Take stewardship of significant software development initiatives, guiding teams working across both Agile and Waterfall environments
- Build trusted relationships with senior leaders and provide clear, evidence-based reporting to executive and board audiences
- Drive continuous improvement, ensuring best-practice processes are embedded and encouraging collaboration, innovation, and high-quality delivery
About you
They are looking for someone who thrives in a leadership role, enjoys bringing structure and clarity to complex environments, and is motivated by work that creates positive impact. You will bring:
- Extensive experience leading or transforming IT functions within large or complex organisations
- Strong background managing third-party delivery partners and navigating multi-vendor ecosystems
- Demonstrable success overseeing major technology projects, including programmes exceeding £1m in budget
- Solid understanding of project delivery methodologies, including both Agile and Waterfall
- Confident, collaborative leadership skills and the ability to build rapport at all levels of the organisation
- Clear, adaptable communication skills, with the ability to demystify technical topics and produce high-quality documentation
