The Role
As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you’ll be critical to keeping production running safely, efficiently, and reliably. You’ll work on a variety of mechanical plant and equipment, supporting both day-to-day output and long-term performance improvements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out planned mechanical maintenance on production plant and equipment
- Delivering reactive and corrective maintenance, minimising downtime and production losses
- Improving and modifying machinery to maximise availability, reliability, and performance
- Diagnosing mechanical faults and advising site management on effective solutions
- Supporting engineering projects, installations, and refurbishments
- Completing dynamic risk assessments and maintaining safe systems of work
- Managing spare parts awareness and maintaining accurate maintenance documentation
- Updating and administering the CMMS
- Contributing to root-cause analysis and continuous improvement activities
- Providing maintenance updates during daily production and operational review meetings
About You
You’ll be a strong fit if you have:
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
- Background working in production, manufacturing, or processing environments. Ideally you will have worked as a Mechanical Engineer or Technician in the waste & recycling sector.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- A proactive approach to safety, reliability, and continuous improvement
