Pertemps Recruitment is working on behalf of one of our clients to recruit an experienced Payroll Manager for a temporary contract, initially for 3-6 months.
This role is responsible for the accurate, timely, and confidential management of company payrolls and payroll bureaus, as well as overseeing remuneration and benefits.
Key Duties
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing, including pay, holiday, sick pay, overtime, and bonuses
- Ensure payrolls are processed in line with HMRC and statutory requirements, including BACS payments
- Reconcile payroll journals, pensions, and ledger balances to strict deadlines
- Manage executive payrolls and Director emoluments
- Complete year-end processes including P11Ds, tax year-end, and PSA schemes
- Maintain payroll and HR systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Resolve payroll queries and produce ad-hoc and regular management reports
- Support line managers and HR with pay structures and reporting
About You
- Proven payroll management experience
- Strong knowledge of HMRC legislation and best practice
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Confident working to tight deadlines in a temporary role
The Details
- Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
- Contract: Temporary (3-6 months initially)
- Hours: Monday‑Friday, 9:00am‑5:00pm (1-hour lunch)
