What will you be doing?
- Leading the design, development and integration of advanced control systems
- Reviewing and approving system architectures, designs and technical specifications
- Taking ownership of testing, validation and commissioning activities
- Managing technical delivery across projects, including quality, performance and compliance
- Working closely with software, hardware, workshop and project teams to deliver successful outcomes
- Leading technical discussions with clients and project teams to resolve issues
- Supporting bids and providing technical sign-off during the tendering process
- Mentoring engineers, developing team capability and providing line management support
- Managing project resources, budgets, reporting and close-out activities
Where you’ll be doing it?
You’ll be joining a long-established engineering business with over 50 years of experience delivering digital transformation and system integration solutions across energy, nuclear and industrial manufacturing. The company works on complex, safety-critical projects and has a strong presence across the UK.
What you’ll need:
- At least 7 years’ experience in systems engineering, hardware design or electrical design
- Strong knowledge of control systems and associated software and hardware
- Experience with tools such as AutoCAD Electrical, SCADA packages, PLC packages and HMI packages
- Experience applying systems engineering principles and system integration processes
- Good understanding of project management, including cost control and client management
- Basic understanding of contractual and commercial requirements
- Experience of software development and hardware integration
- Experience working on client sites
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to provide technical input during bids, including estimating time and effort
- Leadership experience, with the ability to mentor, guide and support engineering teams
- Experience in highly regulated industries would be useful
