Location: Eastern Region, Colchester (Site)

Responsibilities

• Liaise with site management to complete quality take‑offs.
• Identify and assess potential commercial opportunities or issues within the project.
• Prepare hazard and risk assessments and method statements; alert relevant personnel to control measures.
• Conduct inspections and testing to ensure works comply with design and specification.
• Train, manage and mentor junior engineers.
• Manage sectional setting‑out requirements on site.
• Maintain sectional service plans and drawings; issue permits accordingly.
• Assist the QS / Project Manager with records and claims information.
• Oversee as‑built requirements for your section and contribute to the site health and safety file.
• Ensure all work complies with quality, safety and environmental policies and company procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience at least to Section Engineer level in civil engineering schemes.
• Familiarity with NEC contract form and infrastructure projects (structures and highways).
• Computer literate in CAD; CSCS card in appropriate discipline.
• BSc, HND or HNC qualification in civil engineering or related field.
• Strong understanding of ITPs and quality assurance processes.
• Leadership skills and knowledge of construction practices.
• Full UK driving licence; willing to travel throughout the Eastern Region.
• First Aid at Work qualification is desirable.
• Eligibility to live and work in the UK.
