Operating from our HQ in the UK but also globally, we are building the future of advanced metal components. Our innovative approach integrates proprietary software that combines advanced machine learning and physical modelling with extensive experimental facilities, enabling us to 3D print metal components more efficiently and effectively than anyone else.

Our facilities in Yarnton and Abingdon, near Oxford, are dedicated to establishing the world’s fastest, smartest, and best‑equipped environment for the rapid development of additively manufactured parts and the creation of novel metal alloys for enhanced performance.

We serve a variety of sectors including electronics, aerospace, and industrial by leveraging our cutting‑edge technology to build businesses across diverse markets, each with unique requirements, timelines, customers, and cultures.

Role Overview

Alloyed is setting up a Serial Production division responsible for delivering stable, repeatable, and scalable production in an Assembly environment.

The Senior Production and Operations Engineer will be one of the first employees within the Serial Production division and will play a critical role in its setup, project managing the realisation and working with wider stakeholder to ensure it meets the business needs.

The Senior Production and Process Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that production processes are robust, validated, and continuously improved. The role combines technical ownership, cross‑functional collaboration and problem‑solving to ensure smooth transition from NPI to series manufacture.

The Senior Production and Operations Engineer acts as the technical authority for production processes, determining process performance and driving root cause and corrective action activities to prevent future issues.

Responsibilities

Process

  • Define/implement the right level of Equipment to secure production output
  • Maintain a ‘value engineering lens’ during the Design phase ensuring the operation is sized and specified appropriately.
  • Liaise with other Alloyed divisions to understand the production processes for upcoming serial production work.
  • Collaborate with the NPI and Operations teams to define and publish a manufacturing maturity assessment scale, enabling baseline assessment and the smooth transfer of key processes, along with the required supporting deliverables.
  • Participate in gate reviews and provide production sign‑off for progression into Serial Production.

Production

  • Resolve day‑to‑day production issues, ensuring rapid containment and long‑term corrective actions.
  • Support RCCA activities to prevent recurrence of failures or deviations, ensuring effective documentation and communication
  • Define, track, and manage KPIs relating to quality, throughput, downtime, yield, and scrap.
  • Own PFMEAs as processes transfer to production, maintaining up‑to‑date risk analyses and ensuring associated controls are implemented.
  • Own and maintain process documentation, including standard work, control plans and work instructions, ensuring accuracy and compliance during scale‑up.
  • Collaborate with Alloyed process owners to resolve cross‑functional issues affecting production stability or performance.
  • Own process setup for future production runs, including defining key parameters, routings, and standard work.
  • Support qualification activities for machines and processes (IQ/OQ/PQ or equivalent), analysing results and approving release into production
  • Analyse cycle times, labour and process costs, implementing improvements to drive efficiency and cost.

Essential skills

  • Considerable experience in a production engineering, manufacturing engineering, or process engineering role
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong understanding of structured problem‑solving and RCCA methodologies
  • Experience leading PFMEA creation, ownership, and maintenance
