We are working with a leading manufacturing business who are looking for aSenior Buyer to join their team. The successful candidate will work with the aftersales department ensuring parts and components required for the business are available.

The Role

• Source for various parts, components and materials
• Negotiate prices and lead times for products and secure favourable terms for the business
• Liaise with suppliers and schedule deliveries according to production schedule
• Ensure all specification requirements are met for purchased products
• Develop, improve and build strong supplier relationships
• Monitor supplier performance and address any reoccurring issues
• Involved in various cost saving projects for the business
• Reviewing part and component usage and adjust min and max stock holdings
• Other relevant duties

Essential Criteria

• A minimum (3) years + experience in a purchasing / procurement role
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• The ability to work both alone and as part of a team
• Previous experience in working with a MRP system
• Willingness to learn and develop skills
