Join Barclays as a Workload Automation Engineer, playing a critical role in supporting and enhancing an infrastructure that underpins the bank’s batch processing and automation capabilities. In this role, you will help manage and evolve a platform executing over 3 million jobs daily, ensuring stability, resilience, and compliance for business-critical workflows used across Markets, RFT, and wider global technology teams. You will contribute to key initiatives such as platform upgrades, agent migrations, improved observability through AAI, and the development of automation solutions to reduce manual effort.
Please note that the role may include participation in an on‑call rota (approximately once every four weeks) as the platform moves into production, as well as occasional out‑of‑hours or weekend work aligned to major implementation activities.
Required Skills
- Familiarity with scheduling tools.
- Experience with source control systems such as GitLab.
- Strong communication skills.
Highly Valued Skills
- Administrative experience with scheduling tools, preferably AutoSys.
- Solid understanding of enterprise scheduler logic and best practices.
- Experience with automation tools such as Chef or Ansible.
