As a Software Test Integration and Automation Engineer you will join our team in London and will be responsible for the reliability, scalability, and evolution of a modern CI/CD ecosystem and containerised runtime environment. The position sits at the crossroads of software engineering and operations, with a strong focus on enabling consistent, automated delivery of complex, distributed systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, extend, and support CI/CD pipelines to enable automated build, test, and release processes across multiple services.
  • Operate and enhance container-based environments using tooling such as Docker, container registries, and orchestration platforms.
  • Define deployment standards, including version control strategies, rollback mechanisms, and production-readiness processes.
  • Take ownership of operational maintenance activities to ensure service continuity, performance, and resilience.
  • Design and implement tooling that supports:
    • Automated release and deployment of production services
    • Centralised log aggregation and system monitoring
    • Orchestration and lifecycle management of distributed components
  • Work closely with software engineers and operations stakeholders to ensure smooth integration and reliable system behaviour.

Required Skills

  • Proven hands‑on experience working with containerised systems, including image management, registries, and lifecycle operations.
  • Strong practical background in CI/CD tooling and pipeline development (e.g. GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins or similar).
  • Solid understanding of Linux-based systems, shell scripting, and automation techniques.
  • Experience within Aerospace, Defence or space industries.
  • A structured and disciplined approach to documentation, configuration, and operational processes.

Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.
  • Previous exposure to highly regulated, high-reliability, or operationally critical software environments.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure automation or monitoring and visualisation platforms (e.g. infrastructure-as-code tools, metrics dashboards).
