Salary: £28,605 – £31,029 per annum (pro-rata for part-time) (Pay award pending)

About the Role

Using your excellent technical skills, you will assist in the monitoring, maintenance and development of critical line of business operating systems. This includes day to day system monitoring, running systems back up processes, monitoring, recording and escalating system issues. You will assist with systems updates and testing software releases, and provide hands on support to correct data when required.

You will assist the Team Leader to manage and embed system changes, including the development of training and guidance notes, and delivery of staff training sessions. You will monitor the successful delivery of new work practices, providing or arranging additional support to staff as required.

The role also involves the development of technical reports and dashboards, to maintain and develop a suite of high‑profile performance indicators for submission to key stakeholders, as well as co‑ordination of performance information and related administration.

About you

  • Hold an NVQ3 or equivalent qualification in an appropriate area, or have equivalent demonstrable experience in delivering system and technical support, supporting staff to adopt new practices due to system change, experience of interrogating and analysing complex and technical data and producing reports.
  • Able to work under pressure, responding positively in difficult or urgent situations, prioritising competing demands through a highly organised approach.
  • Have experience and skills in the successful interrogation and analysis of complex and technical data including: excellent attention to detail, the ability to manage and interpret large volumes of data, and strong analytical and creative thinking skills.
  • Be able to build powerful relationships across all stakeholders, with excellent communication skills, and an ability to explain technical issues clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of business processes ideally gained within a Local Authority Assisted Transport Service.
  • Excellent IT skills (Microsoft Excel, Access, Word), with commitment to continuous learning and development. This includes a willingness and ability to learn new technologies and applications, particularly in relation to dashboard development, e.g. Power BI.
